都市の共動態

都市は複雑な生態系、多層的なコンテクストで形成され、それらは予測不能な方法で交錯、相互作用をします。このプロジェクト『都市の共動態』は、その多層的な相互作用の中で、建築‐人、都市‐人との新たな関係性を拡張する実験の一端となります。

都市空間に実験的に設置されることを想定した『都市の共動態』が、今回、狭小な住空間の中に現れます。このオブジェクトはスフェリコンという数理モデルを元にした特殊なジオメトリで、人々が微かに触れたり、風がそよそよと吹いたりすると、まるで生命体のように動きます。この動きは人と環境、そして時間を繋げる媒体となります。

「共動態」は、環境が人に一方的に影響を与えるのではなく、気付かぬうちに環境と人の間に相互作用が起こり、間が変化し続ける状態を表した造語です。ここでの「共に動く」とは、物理的な動きだけでなく、感情、思考、記憶にまで及びます。これはただのオブジェクトではなく、人々の行動や感性、そしてそれが生み出す多層的な都市のコンテクストーの一部となるからです。

共動態の媒体となるオブジェクトを通して、日本橋の家に訪れる人と、静的な展示空間の間に、瞬間的に消えては浮かぶ関係性が生まれます。本来都市や建築は人に環境を与える場ではなく、人と共に移り動く「共動態」なのでしょう。

Urban Symbiosis

Cities are intricate ecosystems, forming and interacting unpredictably within diverse contexts. "Urban Symbiosis," an experimental project, aims to nurture new relationships between architecture and individuals, and cities and their inhabitants.

"Urban Symbiosis" is embodied in a distinct object based on the Sphericon mathematical model. When lightly touched or caressed by the wind, it moves organically, linking people, environment, and time. The term "symbiosis" signifies mutual interactions, subtly occurring between individuals and their surroundings, influencing not only physical spaces but also emotions and thoughts.

In this exploration, the object becomes more than a static presence; it evolves into an interactive element within the urban fabric, engaging with people’s behaviors and sensitivities. This symbiotic medium fosters transient relationships in the exhibition space, emphasizing that cities and architecture inherently resonate with the dynamic essence of symbiosis, moving and adapting with human presence and interaction.
