Public Spaces Resonating with Urban Open Data

In a station square that gently slopes from north to south, we have attempted to create spaces for people by manipulating raised ground and introducing various scales of gathering spots.

We have designed public spaces that rise in response to human activity by leveraging urban open data for the principles of terrain formation. Instead of relying solely on the designer's discretion, we have aimed to create more precise human-scale environments based on real-world data of civic activities.

The slope descending towards the station becomes like the seats of a theater, overseeing the activities of the station square, while the area descending from the station transforms into a façade for the city, where the accumulation of people characterizes the landscape. This proposal utilizes the terrain to enhance the plaza's functionality and interaction.
